Did anybody say… EU-Elections 2019?

 Hi everyone.

As I was scrolling Facebook-Posts while sipping my coffee this morning, it struck me that I almost missed out to write about the EU elections which – in Luxembourg & some more Member States – take place tomorrow, May 26th.

Now „I´m not the world´s most [political] guy…“, preferring, on a personal level, civil commitment – but in my view, not voting is not an option. Voting is actually a way of expressing our priorities, the values that we would like to see defended. And it doesn´t keep anyone of personal commitment in different ways on the everyday-level 🙂

I have the feeling that strangely enough, the different programs are much less spread around than for the national elections, but we should not forget that the political decisions taken on the EU level have an impact on each Member State – but more than that, in some aspects the decisions taken on the EU level have an impact broader than the territory of the Member States – somehow also upon regions where citizens don´t have the same freedom of expression than we have.

And so, that´s why it is so important to choose in a sense that allows an open, colourful, diverse society. Not voting or blank votes are like giving free rides to anyone… or… like standing still and watching brown mud getting through a leak and spreading everywhere…

so please won´t you let brown mud spread through the EU and steel rights and freedoms…

´nough said I guess.

GO VOTE, and then enjoy the rest of your weekend 🙂
